I was sitting at home reading the local Newspaper and there was this article about the state of the Hospital system that really concerned me as well as it should concern everybody not only in our age group but everyone who uses the system. I think if we don,t do something about the free ride that these immigrants are getting, there won,t be any hospitals left.
They say half the hospitals in New Jersey are closing and the rest are operating in the red. They are saying that the decrease in state aid and charitable donations are part the blame and that immigration is only part the problem but i don't think they are really looking at the whole picture.
I know for me and most hard working Americans have paid for every Doctor, Prescription and Hospital visit or stay out of our own pockets. Plus every hour i and everybody else who works pay state and federal taxes on every pennies we earn.
But then you have all these immigrants every Friday at the local covieniece store that offer Western Union or services that ship money across the border handing over hundreds of dollars to be sent out with not being taxed at all. Yet they can go to the hospitals for free, they get food stamps and housing assistance. Now try and get that if you are American who worked hard and now with the way the economy is are down on your luck, they tell you that you made to much money.
I was raised well and taught to respect people no matter what their country of origin was but you have to draw the line somewhere. Imagine what this would do to the state budget if they collected all the taxes revenue from this money being shipped out, plus the federal government would benefit also. And how much better the hospital systems would be if they paid their bills?
How about offering some of that housing assistance for some of us needy Americans? Some food stamps? I know everyone couldn't receive them but at least the food banks wouldn't be deleted and have some food left.
Part of the problem are these employers paying them cash and getting away with it. The state and federal government have to start some agencies that check these employers weekly to make sure these workers are paying taxes and if they are illegal get rid of them. These employers should be ashamed that they are a big part of the mess our economy is in and should be fined heavily.
Truthfully i think we should follow Arizona and make it illegal to employee immigrants which would solve alot of our problems because looking down the road on things that i should get when i reach the age of retirement if this problem is not straightened out they might not be available anymore.

Cholesterol Medication for Children - A new threat for the fast food corporate giants
Ah yes, Finally after years of running some of the most successful psychological campaigns, the corporate giants who have brought us things like the happy meal and other lookalikes have another problem on their hands, Pediatricians are now recommending Cholesterol Medication for Children. Along with rising beef, milk, bread and produce prices coupled with decreasing sales they have to figure out how to deal with this new threat.
I mean its not like they don't have the money because they have used the same campaign for the last thirty plus years so they have not had to spend any money on their promotions that's for sure. If any of them can cry its McDonald's for having to employ that clown all this time. Could you imagine Ronald McDonald out there trying to promote lipitor or any of those other Cholesterol drugs? I'm sure his ankles would be really sore or he would have welts all over his faces from getting beaned by the toys he gives out in those happy meals.
How would the kids survive with no milkshakes. sodas or hot apple pies? Veggie burgers, salads and bottled water, I'm sure they would revolt. And even if they didn't could you imagine the look on their faces when they looked for their toy that came with their meal to find a jack sparrow pill container or a Miley Cyrus deal a meal chart. The world would definitely be over and they might as well just lock the bedroom door and throw away the key.
But there could be a bright side to this dilemma after all for these corporate giants because i think that after about a year of these kids driving their parents crazy playing those annoying Richard Simmons tapes and having to clean those jack la lane juicers ten times a day, the person who started this whole mess will either get a million death threats or his position at his work place will get outsourced and everything will be back to normal like its been for the last thirty plus years.

Sexless at Fifty - a topic that could guarantee a vote?
For me i think it definitely could be and i am shore there are more people thinking the same way. Not in my almost fifty-one years has my father ever sat me down and said son this is how its going to be when you turn fifty. Nor have any of my doctors warned of this natural disaster. I mean with the state of economy and everything else this is the last thing you need is sitting on your couch ready to rise to the occasion while nothing else is.
A little fair warning would have been nice, you know like a letter from the surgeon general or your state department of health. Because when the person who was supposed to educate you on this matter lets you down, with all the taxes you pay you think these two agencies could have at least sent us a letter on our fortieth birthday for warning us of this matter.
Shore there is Viagra and Cialis but at ten dollars a pill who can afford them anyway? Plus what happens when you become a casualty of the warnings that they have on these drugs? imagine having to go to the emergency room at your local hospital and telling them your problem of not being able to deflate your lower member. Yea you figure it out, ten dollars for the pill, 250 dollars for the emergency admittance, plus the doctor, the medication and the humility. I think Atlantic city sounds better.
That's why for me personally i think the matter could sway my vote if any of the candidates are listening. Because what they are saying right now is not interesting me at all. You know like one of those billions they are waisting on that meaningless war for more research, heck i would give up driving and ride a bicycle around for a piece of the fountain of youth.
Well with the age of the one candidate and the other one being all talk, I'll just keep sitting on my couch thinking about it and maybe the pump will kick in again or they will come up with a way to rebuild it and my problem will be solved

The Rock Band RUSH - A evening of Stress Relief
A couple of weekends ago on fathers day when i was sitting on the couch opening up my cards from my wife and daughter, i could not help but wonder why my daughter had this mile wide smile on her face. So i opened my card and as i was reading it my daughter hands me these two tickets to see Rush at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. Amidst my happiness and amazement i noticed that they were floor seats and the show was on the Fourth of July, I don't think i have or ever will get a better Father's Day gift as long as i live.
Well last night was the Fourth of July and let me tell you it was a night like no other. It started when i went over and met my daughter at her work over at the local Pizzeria and had a early dinner, Afterward we went home so she could get ready for our evening with Rush.
We left about 5 o'clock and headed down the Garden State Parkway and arrived at the Trump Taj Mahal around 6 P.M. and went in side. the way you have to go thru the Casino to get to the Taj Arena, you have to go by or thru the Casino floor, good thinking by the architect don't you think? So after dropping 80 Dollars in the Slot Machines we headed over to the Arena.
After entering the Arena we were directed to our seats by a floor attendant and my amazement just exploded as we found out how close they were to the stage. The arena itself holds 2,000 people so its small in itself so being able to get seats this good takes some luck, but as i have been blessed with a angel when my daughter was born, these things just come natural.
The show started around 7:45 P.M. with some really cool animation with the band playing all characters then launching into their hit Limelight and continued to crank out hit after hit for the next three hours. Playing most of their new album Sakes and Arrows along with selections that spanned their entire career.
With Alex lifeson doing things with his guitar that no other could, Geddy Lee Paying amazing bass guitar while dancing around the stage and playing keyboards along with everything else, and of course one of the greatest drummers there will ever be Neil Peart , pounding the drums like it was his last showing and doing a mind blowing solo to boot. As i looked around it didn't surprise me that 90 percent of the crowd were air drumming it.
Well it was some time after a four song encore, i think it was around 11:15 we exited the taj arena spent from the energy we released for the band and Stress Level lowered 100%. I'll tell you with the way things are going with the economy and everything this was definitely a much needed night out. Thank god i have a Daughter so grand, i love her with every inch of my heart.

Skin Conditions - Trying to head of those wrinkles
Its early here on the East Coast on the Fourth of July, and hopefully everyone has the same benefit as most of us and has a three day weekend. As for me i live close to the shoreline of New Jersey so along with that usually comes being out in the sun and getting tan.
But i notice at this age that all this exposure to the sun not only from being at the beach but also from the line of work that i do that its starting to take its toll on my skin. So i have been doing some reading on the matter and have found out some things that will help with trying to head of some of the Skin Conditions that might result from these things that are part of my everyday lifestyle.
The foods you eat show on the outside. Studies show that people who eat foods with Vitamin C, and Linoleic Acid have slowed down the Aging process considerably for that these things keep the moisture in the skin for which the sun will dry out if not protected properly.
Such foods are, Orange juice, Citrus foods, Tomatoes, Green leafy Vegetables, and Plant-based Oils.
So on this big holiday weekend with all the Barbecues and parties you have planned, just remember that what you eat and what kind of skin protection you use will determine how long we keep those wrinkles away.

Healthy Recipes
Having that first cup of coffee and need something that is low in fat and good for your heart to take the edge off that morning hunger growl? Well here is a Healthy Recipe that will help get you to your main morning meal.
Prep time 10 min.
Cook time 20 min.
Serves 12
You Will Need1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 packets (about 1.5 ounces each) apple-cinnamon instant oatmeal
2 tablespoons margarine
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups unsweetened applesauce
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup fat-free egg substitute
1 large apple, chopped
What to Do
1. Preheat oven to 375ºF.
Line 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners. Combine 1/3 cup flour, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 packet oatmeal, and margarine in small bowl. Stir together with fingertips until margarine is incorporated into dry ingredients (mixture will be crumbly). Set aside.
2. Mix remaining flour, remaining oatmeal, baking soda, apple pie spice, and salt in medium bowl and make well in center of mixture.
3. Stir together applesauce, oil, remaining brown sugar, and egg substitute in another medium bowl until brown sugar dissolves. Pour all at once into well. Stir just until combined (do not over mix; batter should be lumpy). Stir in apple.
4. Spoon batter into muffin cups. Sprinkle with reserved crumb topping. Bake until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, about 20 minutes.
Cook’s Clue
Can’t find apple pie spice at your market? Mix your own: Combine 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon and 1/8 teaspoon each of ground cloves, mace, and nutmeg.
Health Hint
Apples and oats both supply soluble fiber, the kind that helps to withdraw the artery-clogging bad cholesterol from the blood. This action lowers your possibilities of developing heart disease.
Round Out the Meal
New butter substitutes such as Benecol and Smart Balance not only make a delicious heart-smart spread, but reduce bad cholesterol as well.
Secret to Success
By replacing most of the fat with applesauce, you’ll have muffins that are more moist than the traditional ones, with a slightly fruity taste. The best part: They’re kinder to your heart, and to your waistline, too!

Cholesterol - A healthy way to drop your Cholesterol levels and raise your lifespan
Undoubtedly the best workouts for your heart are aerobic activities like walking, running, swimming, biking, dancing, or really vigorous housework or yard work. But aerobic exercise isn't the only kind shown to help your heart. Strength training -- the type of exercise that builds muscle mass -- may also be important to your heart (and it's certainly important to the rest of your body).
In a study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, strength training lowered total cholesterol 10 percent and LDL cholesterol 14 percent, and also reduced body fat in 24 women who worked out for 45 to 50 minutes three times a week. Strength training also guards against osteoporosis, helps protect your joints, and revs your metabolism, since muscle tissue burns calories much faster than fat tissue does.
And of course being strong lets you put more muscle behind everyday tasks like carrying groceries and grand kids, so you'll tire less easily and be less prone to injury. A side benefit: When you tighten up sagging muscles, you look better! Muscle mass peaks around age 30 and then gradually declines until your fifties, when it tends to go downhill fast. And while walking is terrific for your heart and your legs, it doesn't work the rest of the body very hard. So we're going to ask you to do a bit of strength training in addition to your walking.
If you picture weightlifters heaving hundreds of pounds over their heads or gym fanatics pushing themselves to the limit when you imagine strength training, take heart: You don't have to do anything like that to reach your goals. Just some simple moves that you can do in the comfort and privacy of your own living room will have you on your way to stronger muscles. Most of them don't even require dumbbells. And don't worry about "bulking up" too much. It takes hours of work a day to build big muscles; it won't happen by accident.
So how much strength training should you do? How does 10 minutes a day sound? If that's all the time you can spare, or you're out of shape now, start with a simple 10 minute workout. Try to do it four times a week. Once you master these moves and your body is ready for a slightly more challenging workout, try a 30 minute regimen. Aim to do it at least twice a week.
For optimal gain be sure to perform the exercises slowly and deliberately; there's no sense rushing through them -- you'll only be courting injury. To protect your back, keep your stomach muscles tensed throughout these exercises.

Healthy Living - 7 steps for memory enhancement
As we continue our journey into the latter years of our life, do you ever sit around thinking of something and just get lost? I know with everything that is going on in our lives be it personal or family, Some times it gets hard keeping it all registered and recorded. Well here are a few things that will help.
Protect and improve your memory the simple way: with easy lifestyle changes. To find out what habits really help, Australian researchers set up an online survey to test 29,500 people's long-term memory (what happened 1, 5, and 20 years ago), working memory (what's on a shopping list), and ability to hang on to others' faces, names, and jobs. Then the researchers queried everyone about their lifestyles. Want a mind like a steel trap? Here are seven of the habits they found most likely to help:
1. Have fewer than two alcoholic drinks a day
2. Watch less than 1 hour of TV daily
3. Read novels
4. Do crosswords
5. Eat fish
6. Drink tea or coffee
7. Keep a journal
